Patricia Cosentino, Ed.D.
[email protected]
On July 1, 2012, Dr. Patricia Cosentino began her tenure as Superintendent of Regional School District 12. She is extremely honored to be working in such a well respected school district. She is excited to meet the challenges of the Region and looks forward to working with the children, families and community members to ensure that students receive the best education possible.
Dr. Cosentino was employed for 11 years in the Bethel school system. She began her Bethel career in 2001 as the Principal of Frank A. Berry School. In 2006, Dr. Cosentino assumed the principalship of Bethel High School (BHS). During her 11 years in Bethel, she oversaw two school renovation projects, led the high school in a NEASC self-study and site visit which allowed BHS to receive accreditation. Before her time in CT she worked in Public School 206Q in Rego Park, New York as a teacher, an Assistant Principal and five years as the Principal. Dr. Cosentino also worked for one year in Columbus School in Bridgeport, CT. Her varied experiences have allowed her to meet wonderful children and families and embrace the school communities.
Dr. Cosentino received her Doctorate in Instructional Education from Western Connecticut State University in 2008 and continues to be involved in their educational program as she mentors administrative candidates. She is currently the President of WCSU’s Phi Delta Kappa and stays involved with the University on many levels. Dr. Cosentino is also a Board member on the Connecticut Association for the Gifted (CAG).
Dr. Cosentino currently resides in Bethel with her son, Vincent and their dog Dallas. Dr. C. loves spending quality time with her family; she has a Mom in New York City, three sisters, two brother-in-laws, seven nephews and one niece. Dr. Cosentino loves going to NYC to visit friends and see shows on Broadway. She is a big music fan, her favorite being Bruce Springsteen. Dr. Cosentino enjoys the outdoors, both the country and the beach, appreciating the beauty and serenity of nature.
Dr. Cosentino feels extremely fortunate to work in a profession that is meaningful and important. She absolutely loves her job! Dr. C. has a passion for public education and learning. Dr. Cosentino understands the importance of “practicing an attitude of gratitude.” She looks forward to working with the Board of Education, the staff and community and prepared to make Regional School District 12 the best it can be.
